Has Yahoo Mail changed to a new version for you? If it has, then look around somewhere at the top of the page when youre at your inbox for "Switch back" and click it to go back to the old version. The photos might still be there.
If it hasn't changed then search here (its the mail help page) http://help.yahoo.com/help/uk/mail/
